My Simple 3 Ingredient Everyday Cleaning Spray

In our home, we like to make as many things as we can. It gives us the knowledge to be able to do things without a store and also allows us to know what is in the products that we use in our home. It also saves a TON of money and you control the ingredients. That makes it not only cheaper but healthier and more natural for your family. My Simple Everyday Cleaning Spray uses only 3 common ingredients that you can easily get your hands on.
Why I said Goodbye Harsh Cleaners
It’s kinda funny, but I remember the exact day that I decided to go with a more natural cleaner. I was cleaning off our wooden kitchen table and chairs and grabbed Lysol Spray because I really wanted to get rid of all those germs. I gave them all a spray and then took some paper towels and wiped them off. To my surprise, the Lysol was taking the varnish off my wooden chairs. WHAT? That is disgusting! That cleaner is not to be messed with unless it is flu season in the bathroom on toilets and door handles. That was the day I decided to go more natural.
All You Need for a Natural Everyday Cleaning Spray
This is the multi-purpose cleaner I use in my home. It is nothing too special and doesn’t fight grim and guck, but I like it for my kitchen counters, table, bathroom counters, walls, door handles, and spots on the floor.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Water
2 Cups Vinegar (you could also infuse your vinegar with orange peels or herbs- see this post. I will do this with orange peels, lemon peels, and fresh or dried herbs such as sage, rosemary, or mint)
An empty spray bottle
Essential Oils for scent and extra cleaning abilities.
This is what I personally use:
12 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
5 drops of Orange Essential Oil
3-4 drops of Tea Tree Oil for its anti-fungal properties
Feel free to add your favorite oils. You can choose to change the scents based on the season or just use it as is. My husband is not a huge fan of vinegar, so I like to try and cover up the scent as much as I can. Clean my Space has a great article on Everything you Need to Know About Cleaning with Essential Oils! that gives you some other scent combinations.
Note: I am not partial to any one brand of essential oils. I used what I have on hand and what I can easily find.
Add all the Ingredients Together
That’s it! Pour the water and vinegar into the empty spray bottle. Add the essential oils to the bottle. Put the spray nozzle on tightly and give it a shake. This does smell like vinegar. My husband is not a fan of the scent of vinegar, but I hardly notice it. It is much better than any cleaner that can destroy varnish. I like the combination of lavender and orange but you can add your favorite scents to make it your own.
What are your favorite scent combinations? I would love to try some out! Add a comment below. You may also like this Homemade Liquid Landry Soap. I love this one because it makes a HUGE batch and is super affordable.

I love that more and more people are giving up harsh chemicals. It’s a great way to improve the health of those we love!
I love that too Carri. There are so many benefits to using natural cleaners and having a more natural lifestyle in general.
I always use water and vinegar, but I never thought to use essential oils with it, too. Great suggestion!
I have come to love the smell of vinegar, but my husband, not so much. So I have to add scents.
I love water and vinegar but never add EOs. Great idea!
My husband hates the smell of vinegar, so I have to hid the smell and EO also adds some extra superpowers to the cleaning mix.
I am loving this natural cleaning alternative! It’s crazy how harsh the chemicals can be in store-bought cleaning products!
